Google Business Profile

ServiceLocal is operated by Exige SARL, Luxembourg, registered with RCS Luxembourg under B132120. This page explains the status and planned use of our Google Business Profile integration.

Availability

The Google Business Profile connection is in development and is not currently available. API access has been requested from Google. Reading Google reviews, replying to reviews, editing profile information and publishing posts through this connection will be available only after access approval and completion of the integration. There is no promised launch date.

ServiceLocal currently lets a business link its Google review page and send review-request emails. A review-page link does not give ServiceLocal access to the business's Google account or permission to publish on its profile.

What the connection is being built to do

After launch, an owner or authorized manager will sign in with Google and explicitly connect the profiles they manage. The planned functions are:

• View business information, hours, services, reviews and ratings for the connected profile.
• Update business information, hours and services at the business's direction.
• Compose and publish authorized replies to customer reviews.
• Create, update and delete authorized business posts, including the text and media the business chooses to publish.

Google's business.manage permission covers business listing management. It does not provide access to unrelated businesses, Gmail messages or Google Drive files. Connecting Google Calendar is a separate choice.

Your authorization and control

The business will retain ownership of its Business Profile. Using ServiceLocal will not require transferring ownership to us or sharing a Google password.

Connecting an account will not by itself authorize every possible change. Profile changes, review replies and posts, including AI-assisted content, will require the business owner's specific, express authorization. We will make the authorized changes visible to the business and will not automatically undo Google's updates without consulting the business.

You will be able to revoke ServiceLocal's permission through your Google Account connections. You can also contact [email protected] from your account email to request disconnection. We will stop access and remove any management permissions we hold within seven business days of that request. Published posts and replies may remain on Google; disconnecting will not delete your Business Profile.

Google data and privacy

The planned connection will use only the data needed for the functions you enable: Google account identification, authorized account and location identifiers, business details, reviews and reviewer-provided metadata, replies, and the posts and media you choose to manage.

Before launch, the integration must provide secure token storage, separation between businesses, revocation handling and deletion controls. These are launch requirements, not a claim that a Google connection is operating today.

Any limited caching of Google Business Profile API content will be solely for performance, stored securely for no more than 30 calendar days and removed when the connection ends. It will not become a permanent reviews archive, prospecting database or data feed for third-party scripts.

Google user data will not be sold, used for advertising, or used to train general-purpose AI models. Any AI-assisted drafting will be limited to the feature the business authorizes. Our use of Google data must comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and the Business Profile API policies.

The Privacy Policy describes ServiceLocal's current data practices. Before the new connection is enabled, we will publish any required policy changes and give the notice required by our terms. This preview does not enable new Google data processing for existing accounts.

Fees, independence and results

Google Business Profile is available from Google at no charge. ServiceLocal charges for its own software and services, as described in your order and invoices. A ServiceLocal fee is not a fee to be listed on Google. Any additional profile-management charge will be disclosed before you agree to it.

ServiceLocal is an independent provider. API access does not imply a Google partnership, certification or endorsement. We do not guarantee search rankings, review ratings, review volumes or leads.
