Tenant-Site Privacy Notice
1. About this notice
You are most likely reading this because you followed a footer link from a local business's site at {slug}.servicelocal.ai. That site is operated by an independent business (the "Business") that uses ServiceLocal as the software platform behind its website, booking page, AI receptionist, and customer-relationship tools.
This document is a single, standard privacy notice that applies to all sites powered by us. It describes what information flows where when you interact with a Business through one of these sites, who decides what happens to that information, and how to exercise your privacy rights.
2. Who is the controller of your data
The Business you contacted is the controller of your personal information (the "business" or "operator" under U.S. state privacy laws — including CCPA / CPRA in California, and equivalent laws in other states). That means the Business decides what to do with your information and is the party responsible for honouring your privacy rights.
Exige SARL (operating as ServiceLocal) is the service provider / processor. We run the technical platform on the Business's behalf and only handle your information based on the Business's instructions and the configuration they set.
This means:
- For requests about your personal information — access, correction, deletion, opt-out of sale or sharing, or any other right — contact the Business, using the contact details on the page you came from.
- We will, where appropriate and required by law, refer end-customer privacy requests we receive back to the Business.
- For questions about the platform itself (how the AI receptionist works, what subprocessors are involved, what the retention defaults are), you may contact [email protected].
3. What information is collected when you interact with a Business through our platform
The categories below cover the personal information that flows through the platform when you use a Business's site, booking page, lead widget, or AI receptionist.
3.1 Information you provide
| Category | Specific data | Where collected |
|---|---|---|
| Booking submissions | Name, email, phone, service requested, preferred date and time, free-text notes | Public booking form on the Business's site |
| Lead-widget submissions | Name, email, phone, free-text inquiry | Lead widget on the Business's site |
| Voice receptionist calls | Caller phone number; what you said during the call (processed transiently to generate a summary); call duration and timestamps | Inbound call to the phone number listed on the Business's site |
| Web chat with the AI assistant | Messages you send; technical metadata of your session (IP, browser) | Embedded receptionist chat widget on the Business's site, where enabled |
3.2 Information collected automatically
| Category | Specific data | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Server / access logs | IP address, user-agent, request path, timestamps | Automatic, on any request to the Business's site |
| Map interactions | IP, approximate device location, map-interaction telemetry | Embedded Google Maps where the Business displays its service area |
The Business's site does not load tracking analytics, advertising pixels, reCAPTCHA, or similar third-party services by default. The Business may add such tools later; in that case, the Business is responsible for disclosing them.
3.3 What is NOT retained
- Call audio: not retained. The voice provider is configured to delete audio after each call.
- Full call transcripts: not retained by ServiceLocal. Transcripts pass through our systems transiently to generate the call summary, and are then discarded.
4. How the information is used
The Business uses the information you provide to:
- respond to your inquiry, contact you about the service you requested, and complete the booking;
- maintain a record of your interactions in their customer-relationship tool;
- send you booking confirmations, reminders, and follow-up communications, where applicable;
- comply with their own legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We use the information solely to operate the platform on behalf of the Business — for example, to deliver the voice call to the right account, generate a summary, store the booking record, deliver email confirmations, and bill the Business for its use of the platform.
We do not use end-customer information to train general-purpose machine-learning models, and we do not sell or share end-customer personal information within the meaning of CCPA / CPRA.
5. Subprocessors used to operate the platform
We use the following third-party services to run the platform. Each is contractually bound to use the information only to provide the function described.
| Vendor | Function |
|---|---|
| ElevenLabs | Voice receptionist speech-to-text and text-to-speech (audio and transcripts deleted per our configuration) |
| Telnyx | Telephony — call routing |
| OpenAI | Large-language-model inference for the in-platform AI assistant |
| Anthropic | Large-language-model inference for the voice receptionist |
| Maps and Places for embedded service-area maps, where the Business displays them | |
| AWS SES | Transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, reminders) |
| Cloudflare | DNS, edge proxy, and tunnel |
| Hetzner | Server hosting in the European Union |
The Business may additionally use third-party services we do not control (their own CRM, marketing tool, payment processor for the work performed, etc.). Those are between you and the Business.
6. Hosting and data location
Customer data is hosted on infrastructure located in the European Union (Hetzner). The platform is targeted at the United States market. Personal information may be processed by our subprocessors in the United States and other countries as part of their normal operations.
7. Retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Booking and lead records | Held in the Business's customer-relationship tool until the Business deletes them or until the Business's account with ServiceLocal is permanently closed |
| Voice call summaries and metadata | Same as above |
| Voice call audio | Not retained — deleted by the voice provider after the call |
| Voice call full transcripts | Not retained by ServiceLocal |
| Server / access logs | 90 days |
| Email-delivery suppression list | Indefinite (anti-spam compliance) |
For all information held on behalf of the Business, the Business — not ServiceLocal — sets the practical retention by deciding when to delete records from its customer-relationship tool.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on the U.S. state in which you reside, you may have rights including:
- Right to know what categories of personal information are held about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients;
- Right to access specific pieces of personal information;
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- Right to delete personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that the Business is not selling or sharing end-customer personal information through our platform;
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any privacy right;
- Right to appeal a denial of a request, where applicable in your state.
Submit your request to the Business, using the contact details on the page you came from. The Business is the controller of your information and is the right party to respond.
If, after contacting the Business, you have a question that specifically concerns how the platform handles data (rather than the Business's own use of it), you can email [email protected] and we will assist the Business where appropriate.
9. AI disclosure
The voice line and chat surfaces on sites powered by us may be answered by an AI assistant. The AI identifies itself as an AI assistant in its greeting and is permitted to confirm that it is an AI when asked directly.
You may ask to speak to a human at any time. Depending on how the Business has configured the receptionist, the call may be transferred to a human or you may be invited to leave a message or callback request.
10. Children
The platform and the Business's site are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the platform. If you believe a child has provided information through one of these sites, contact the Business, or contact us at [email protected], and the information will be deleted in accordance with applicable law.
11. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, and segregated environments. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The current version is always posted at https://servicelocal.ai/legal/tenant-site-privacy with the version number and effective date.
